Free Medical Mission
From 2021 to date, SGAF has successfully carried out free medical program in local communities around Nigeria.
Providing medical services to over 20,000 individuals and still counting. The mission includes - general medical consultation, laboratory test, surgeries where necessary, optional care, dental care, free prescription drugs and individual in-person counseling.
Mission Objectives
The primary objectives of the medical mission are as follows:
Provide accessible healthcare services to underserved and less privileged communities.
Offer general medical consultations to address a range of health concerns.
Conduct necessary surgeries to improve health outcomes.
Offer optional medical services to enhance overall well-being.
Provide dental care to improve oral health and hygiene.
Ensure access to necessary medications for individuals who cannot afford them.
Alleviate financial burdens on patients caused by medication costs.
Reduced the prevalence of preventable illnesses due to lack of access to treatment and medications.
Services Offered
General Consultation
Medical professionals provided thorough health assessments, diagnosed illnesses, and prescribed appropriate treatments, providing them. Health education sessions were also conducted to raise awareness about preventive measures.
Surgeries
Surgical teams performed necessary medical procedures, ranging from minor surgeries to more complex interventions in specialist hospitals outside the local area, addressing a wide array of medical conditions.
Optional Medical Services
individuals received additional medical services such as cataract removal (surgery), vaccination,, eye check-ups, prescription lens, and mental health consultations.
Dental Care:
Providing dental care services, including dental check-ups, extractions, cleanings, and basic treatments to improve oral health.
Free medication
Patients had access to essential medications, leading to better management of chronic conditions and improved overall health.
Partnerships and Volunteers
The continual success of our mission is greatly attributed to the collaboration of medical professionals, volunteers, local organizations, and sponsors. A diverse team of doctors, pharmacists, nurses, surgeons, dentists, opticians and support staff contributes their expertise and time that ensures the mission's success.
Impact and Outcomes
The medical mission has yielded significant positive outcomes:
Over 20,000 individuals have received medical care and services over a period of 3years
Numerous surgeries were conducted, exceeding 2,500 successful sessions, addressing critical health issues at no cost and without a single loss of life.
Dental care improved oral hygiene and addressed dental problems.
Optional medical services provided holistic healthcare support especially cataract removal, some who were assumed blind due to witchcraft (superstition), recovered their sight.
Health education sessions promoted awareness and preventive measures.
Counseling session ensured adherence to prescribed treatment plans, leading to better health outcomes.

Conclusion
The free medical mission to 11 local communities, is a resounding success, reaching over 20,000 individuals with a range of healthcare services. The mission not only address immediate health concerns but also promotes long-term well-being through awareness and education. The collaborative effort of medical professionals, volunteers, and sponsors plays a pivotal role in making this initiative impactful and sustainable.
participants received quality health care from certified medical professionals without cost and with no loss of life.
To support the implementation and sustainability of the free medical program, we seek sponsorship from private individuals, foundations, philanthropic organizations, and through collaborations with healthcare institutions within the country and overseas.
